And the slave girls played on…

Okay, I don’t know where the blog title today came from, but it sounded amusing.  Been hard at work proofing the handbook sections. Waiting for Favonius to make his corrections (mine have now turned a number of pages red again).

In other news, still unit things going on. I maintain that a unit can NOT be located all over the country — it won’t work. You have to be close together, otherwise members won’t be close as friends and comrades and worse, some will feel “more in charge” than others, thus leading to hurt feelings, jealousy, anger at “orders not being followed,” etc. My thoughts for tonite.

Slave Girls

Okay, sorry, I found some slave girl art, because it amused me to. This is more apropos, but.. the ones below are more after my heart:

Sorry, I couldn't help it, after all... 😕

Roman Days 2011

I had a photo of Marcvs and I at Roman Days and thought I’d share it. It was hot, but a nice day. I am sure he or Rob can report more on the event.

A Beginning…

As with all things, this must have a beginning. This diarivm (Latin for diary) will discuss our work building Legio IX Hispana into a worthwhile reenacting and living history group. My hope is that there will be tidbits of Romaneß inserted here on a regular basis. Things like a reading list/bookstore, so that we (members of Leg. IX HSPA) may share our favourite books on Rome with you, the reader.

Often, I lapse into British spellings for things (I don’t know why, I just do) and i often use German words and characters (ä,ö, ü, ß) too. Deal with both. I am getting to be a crotchety old curmudgeon… However, my goal is to, as we go along, illustrate the proceß (ß=ss, again, deal with it) for all to learn from.

Tired, I am

It is late, I am tired. I have been working on the website theme for www.legioix.org and spent last night looking at code. YUCK! Coders don’t get the fact that most of us don’t LIKE coding, it’s an evyil to get somewhere. Coders have websites that work well, but are either butt-ugly or have no content. My crap works somewhat, but I am anal-retentive about type and layout — blame that on Marcvs Equitivs Lentvlvs.

Before I sign off, go join www.legioix.org… no spammers allowed.
